Ana Palacio

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Spanish Government, international lawyer specialist in European Law, Public International Law and Arbitration, founder and director of the law firm Palacio y Asociados. She has dedicated her professional life to the national and international public sector, and to private advisory services. In the public sector, she was a Member of the European Parliament between 1994 and 2002, the first Spanish woman who became Minister of Foreign Affairs (2002-2004).

She is part of the Board of Directors at Enagás, Pharmar and AEE Power, of the Research Advisory Boards of Investcorp and Office Chérifies des Phosphates-OCP and of the International Governing Board of the IE Business School. He is also a member of the Councils of prestigious, foundations or think tanks, such as The Atlantic Council of the United States, Energy Futures Initiative, Sandra Day O’Connor Justice Prize, the Spain-US Council Foundation, the Institute of Human Sciences, the Global Leadership Foundation and the Elcano Royal Institute.

She is a visiting professor at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. And she collaborates periodically in various media, particularly through his monthly contributions to Project Syndicate, and regularly participates in conferences and forums.
