Request a press pass for LibertyCon 2019. January 17-20, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.

The deadline for online/advance media registration is Wednesday, January 16th, 2019. Onsite media registration may be available, space permitting. Students For Liberty reserves the right to withhold press credentials from applicants and to revoke those credentials before or during the event.

The registration period is over, if you wish to attend LibertyCon you will be able to purchase tickets on the spot.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
While we allow on-site registration, you are encouraged to register as early as possible so we can accurately estimate attendance and to give yourself time to plan your stay in Washington, DC. When you arrive, you must check in at the media registration desk to receive your press pass. 
No meals will be provided by Students For Liberty, with the exception of Saturday night’s Awards Dinner. If you’d like to attend the Awards Dinner, make sure to register for the dinner here. Light refreshments will be provided at the evening socials.

There are many inexpensive dining options near the conference venue and the program booklet will include a list of lunch and dinner options in the area.
The LibertyCon dress code has evolved over the years to match expectations for young professionals in the work force. While this means the dress code is more flexible than it’s been in years past, all attendees are encouraged to consider how their appearance reflects on the liberty movement and to dress their best for the weekend. Students For Liberty leaders are required to dress at least business casual and should contact their Regional Director with any related questions or concerns. The dress code for Saturday night’s Awards Dinner is black tie optional.
Yes! Non-students are encouraged to attend LibertyCon and will find a great deal of programming for supporters, alumni, and friends of SFL. One aim of the conference is to provide our student leaders with professional contacts in the liberty movement and to provide movement professionals with talented student contacts. It’s a great place to reconnect with fellow liberty advocates and meet the next generation of liberty activists!
Unfortunately Students For Liberty is not able to provide travel support or purchase hotel rooms for LibertyCon attendees. Hotels rooms are available at a reduced price for conference-goers and can be reserved here.

Students can also click here to apply for a travel scholarship of up to $150 towards LibertyCon travel expenses. All North American student leaders in good standing will be provided with hotel rooms and a travel stipend. Student leaders in other regions should contact their Regional Director or staff liaison to discuss options for travel support. 
Nope! Students For Liberty prides itself on taking a “big tent” approach to promoting liberty. This means not only that pro-liberty people of all types and backgrounds are welcome to join in the fun, but also that there’s no requirement to have prior knowledge of libertarian thought, economics, or any particular approach to liberty.

We’re here to discuss ideas and work towards a freer future, which means being welcoming and open to all political perspectives. We’d love to have yours represented!
Every year, SFL receives dozens of requests for an invitation letter to attend LibertyCon. Because of the overwhelming quantity of requests we have received in the past, SFL’s North America office no longer issues invitation letters. Please locate and contact your local SFL leader to obtain a visa letter. If you are unable to locate someone in your region, please contact Kyle Walker at [email protected] for help.
Attending the LibertyCon can be overwhelming at times and we understand that not everyone will make it to every session. That said, you’re encouraged to attend as many breakouts and main stage speakers as you can both to show to respect to the speakers we’ve invited and so you can get the most out of your weekend. In the past, students have sometimes organized additional programming for the weekend. While this sort of initiative is still encouraged, if you do organize such an event, please contact someone on SFL’s staff so we can include them in promotion and logistics.
