Pedro Urruchurtu

Venezuelan Pro-Freedom Activist

Pedro Urruchurtu Noselli is a Venezuelan political scientist, professor, and pro-democracy and pro-freedom activist who serves as Coordinator of International Affairs for Vente Venezuela and as International Relations Coordinator for opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado and President-elect Edmundo González through the ConVzla campaign office. He has been at the forefront of the international effort to restore democracy in Venezuela, helping mobilize global political, diplomatic, and civil society support for the democratic movement.

In March 2024, after the regime issued fabricated arrest warrants against members of the opposition campaign, accusing them of terrorism, conspiracy, and treason, Urruchurtu sought asylum at the Embassy of Argentina in Caracas. He remained there as hostage, alongside five colleagues, for more than 400 days under constant siege by political police forces until their rescue in May 2025 through an international operation led by the United States.

He is internationally recognized for his leadership and advocacy for democracy, freedom, and classical liberal values.
