Zurab Girchi Japaridze is a Georgian libertarian politician and founder of the political party Girchi-More Freedom. He has been elected to the Parliament of Georgia three times and is one of the leading voices advocating for individual liberty, free markets, and Georgia’s integration with the West.
Japaridze began his political career in 2012 and later co-founded the libertarian party Girchi, before establishing Girchi-More Freedom in 2020. He is known for his unconventional political campaigning and strong advocacy for limited government, deregulation, and civil liberties.
In 2025, he was sentenced to seven months in prison after refusing to recognise the legitimacy of the sitting parliament and declining to cooperate with a parliamentary commission, a move widely viewed by international observers as politically motivated.
