Francisco Cabrillo Rodríguez

Economist and Legal Scholar

Francisco Cabrillo Rodríguez (born in Santander in 1950) is an influential Spanish economist and legal scholar, recognized as one of the pioneers and leading figures of the economic analysis of law in Spain. He earned degrees in Law and Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed his education with a Master’s in Economics from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. from the Complutense.

Professor of Applied Economics and Public Finance at the Complutense University of Madrid.

He served as director of the Institute of Market Economics, Senior Associate Member of St. Antony’s College at the University of Oxford, and president of the Economic and Social Council of the Community of Madrid. A prolific author, he has published books such as “Reforma judicial y economía de mercado” (2001, with S. Pastor), “Estrategias para un gobierno eficaz” (2008, in partnership with S. Fitzpatrick y J. Gómez Pomar). He is a regular contributor to media outlets such as Expansión, Libertad Digital and The Objective, where he analyzes current economic issues from a classical liberal perspective.
