He is the author of Free Private Cities: Making Governments Compete for You, which outlines a framework for creating autonomous, privately operated jurisdictions.
Dr. Gebel played a key role in establishing Próspera, the groundbreaking special economic zone in Honduras, and has advised other nations on innovative special economic zones. As President of the Free Cities Foundation, he works to promote and enable free cities worldwide.
