Irakli Khvadagiani is a researcher and chairman of the board of SovLab. He is also an invited
lecturer at Ilia State University.
His field of research is the social and political processes of the second half of the 19th century
and the 20th century, the domestic politics of the First Republic of Georgia, the Soviet Russian
occupation and the Georgian resistance movement, the history of Georgian political emigration,
the special services of the Soviet Russian totalitarian system, Soviet national policy, the age of
