Tamar Kapanadze, Human Rights Defender, Civic Activist.

Tamar is an experienced human rights defender currently working at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting. Her focus at the organisation is combating gender disinformation in Armenia, Georgia, and Poland. Previously she worked with various human rights organisations, notably Tbilisi Pride, Georgia’s leading LGBTQ+ organisation and Tbilisi Shelter City, relocation and rehabilitation program for human rights defenders at risk. 

Tamar holds a MA degree in Public Law and Policy from Ilia State University and LLM degree in Human Rights from the University of London, where she was studying as a recipient of a prestigious Chevening scholarship. She is a fellow at the International Women’s Human Rights Institute and fellow of the German Marshall Fund.
